Lastly, always remember to equip your tank with a secure lid or cover, as African Butterfly Fish are known for their strong leaping abilities and can easily jump out of the aquarium if not properly covered.

African butterflyfish are difficult to care for because they need special care and have temperamental behaviors. Naturally carnivorous, this species thrives when fed a diet of live insects multiple times per day. The fish can be fed roaches, spiders, flies, and earthworms. Grasshoppers are also preferred.
